    restart at 8:15am PDT 

    We’ve been observing odd network delays that happen with some regularity twice an hour.  To attempt to address that, and for other AWS maintenance reasons, we’ll be moving the EZID server to another host within the AWS infrastructure.  This amounts to a reboot, so it should take EZID offline for about 2min.

    LDAP outage come and gone 

    Last night, beginning at 9:45pm PDT, an LDAP outage prevented EZID from authenticating user requests.  The outage lasted 45min before being resolved.

    DataCite operational again 

    DataCite appears to be running and stable again.  According to DataCite, the problem was a server overload; the particular offending client was identified and contacted, and while a long-term solution is needed, for now server loads are being kept at a manageable level.

    LDAP problem encountered and resolved 

    For a couple hours this morning one of the replicated LDAP servers that EZID uses to authentic user logins began returning bad data, with the effect of causing some user operations to fail.  The problem has been resolved now.  We apologize for the inconvenience.

    DataCite is down again.

    DataCite outage last night 

    DataCite was down for approximately one hour last night, from 2:30am to 3:30am PDT.  Everything appears to be running fine now.

    network issues resolved 

    “The intermittent network problem has been resolved.  The intermittent performance issue was caused by an external network carrier (Cenic).  This carrier outage was city wide.  The network was routed to a redundant connection in Oakland to restore service.  The issue was resolved on Monday, March 16, 2015 at 12:40. “

    network connectivity issues 

    The datacenter hosting EZID and N2T is currently experiencing network connectivity issues.  Network connections are intermittent.  Administrators are working to resolve the incident as quickly as possible.
